This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") supplements Chitravala's Terms & Conditions and explains what is not allowed on the Platform. Chitravala is for celebrating — birthdays, weddings, festivals, family moments. Because we work with real people's photos, faces and voices, the rules below are strict. They apply to what you type, what you upload, what you make and what you share. Breaking them can lead to content removal, account suspension or termination.
1. Real People, Faces and Consent
You may not:
- Upload a photo of a person without their consent (or, for a child, their parent's or guardian's consent)
- Make deepfakes — images, videos or voice notes that make a real person appear to say or do something they did not — without their clear consent, or in any way that could mislead, embarrass or harm them
- Impersonate anyone — a real person, a business, a government body or official
- Use a public figure's or celebrity's likeness or name to suggest they endorse, attend or say something, or to mislead anyone
- Make content meant to identify, track or expose a person, or reveal their private information (addresses, phone numbers, ID numbers) without consent
2. Prohibited Content
You may not create, upload or share content that contains or promotes:
- Sexual content — nudity, sexually explicit or sexualised images, or "undressing" edits of real people
- Anything involving minors in a sexual, exploitative or harmful context — zero tolerance; we report it to the authorities
- Hate — attacks or slurs against a religion, caste, community, gender, sexual orientation, region, language, nationality or disability
- Harassment and bullying — mocking, threatening or humiliating a person
- Violence, terrorism or self-harm — gore, threats, glorifying real attacks or riots, encouraging suicide or self-injury (ordinary festival traditions such as burning a Ravan effigy are fine)
- Election and political misinformation — fake images, videos or audio of politicians or parties, campaign material using real leaders' faces, false claims about voting, or communal political messaging
- Fraud — fake receipts, invoices, IDs, certificates, government notices, bank or payment screenshots, fake offers, scams or phishing
- Fake news — synthetic media presented as a real event, or meant to deceive
- Illegal products or services under Indian law (drugs, weapons, counterfeits, trafficking, unlicensed gambling)
- Infringement — other people's copyrighted work, trademarks or logos used without permission
3. AI Labels and Honesty
- Do not remove or hide AI labels. Every export carries "Made with AI" metadata. Do not strip it, and do not crop, cover or edit out any visible AI mark.
- Do not pass synthetic media off as real. Do not present a Chitravala creation as a real photograph, recording or event.
- Follow the law on synthetic media, including India's IT Rules on synthetically generated information.
4. Prohibited Behaviour
You may not:
- Try to bypass safety checks — for example by spelling words strangely, hiding requests in other languages or images, or splitting a request to get around moderation
- Try to extract our prompts, system instructions, templates or model settings, or reverse engineer the Platform
- Create multiple accounts, use shared devices or scripts to farm signup coins, daily coins, coupons or referral rewards
- Use bots, scrapers or scripts to access the Platform, or get around rate limits
- Interfere with or disrupt the Platform or its providers
- Use Chitravala's outputs or the Platform to train or build a competing AI model
- Resell, white-label or share access to the Services without a written agreement
- Send spam or unsolicited bulk messages using Chitravala creations or share links
- File false or abusive reports against other people's content
5. Enforcement
- Automated moderation — we check text (briefs, names and fields, voice scripts, edit instructions, Explore titles), every uploaded photo and every finished image or video poster frame. Checks cover English, Hindi, Hinglish and other Indian languages and scripts. If something is blocked before it is made, nothing is charged; if a result is blocked, its coins are returned. Automated checks are a filter, not a guarantee, and they can make mistakes.
- Explore review — nothing appears in the public Explore gallery until our team approves it.
- Reports — anyone can report a share link with the Report button on the share page. A link that collects several reports is hidden while we review it.
- Human review — our team reviews reports and flagged content, normally within 24 hours.
- Repeat offenders — accounts with repeated moderation blocks are flagged automatically for review.
- Law enforcement — we comply with lawful takedown orders and requests from Indian authorities within the timelines the law sets.
5.1 Consequences
- Removal of the content, share link or Explore post
- Warning recorded on your account
- Limits — for example pausing free daily coins for coin farming
- Suspension — your account cannot create or change anything; you will see a notice when you sign in
- Termination for serious or repeated breaches, with coins forfeited
- Reporting to law enforcement for illegal content, especially anything involving children
- Civil action to recover damages for abuse, fraud or infringement
6. Reporting Violations
If you see a Chitravala creation that breaks this AUP, or one that uses your photo or likeness without your consent:
- Tap Report on the share page, or
- Email grievance@chitravala.com with the subject "AUP Violation Report", the link (
/s/<code>), a short description and any evidence.
We acknowledge reports within 24 hours. Content showing a person in a sexual or intimate way without consent, or impersonating them, is acted on as a priority and normally removed within 24 hours of the complaint. Other complaints are resolved within 15 working days.
